Real Mothers don't eat quiche; they don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox. Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids. Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of carpets. Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up. Real Mothers sometimes ask "Why me?" and get their answer when a little voice says,

"Because I love you best."
Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or yearsgrade...It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...

I have not always liked marigolds. They usually come in one of my least favorite colors – orange. They smell nowhere near as sweet as a rose or other flower. In fact, their scent is strong and one that takes some getting used to. I have grown to appreciate marigolds, however, because of a vegetable garden I had many years ago. The marigolds I planted at the borders of my garden served as a barrier to insects that would have harmed my vegetables. Because they flourished along with the rest of the garden, I came to enjoy them – their pungent protective scent and brilliant colors. They also endured long after the vegetables died out – until frost arrived to stifle them. Let us remember the marigolds as we look around us and see those whom we disagree with or those who worship differently. Maybe we need to take another prayerful look at them and try to develop a different outlook about them. Our Lord remarked about a man (not one of the twelve) who was casting out demons in His name that he who is not against us is for us. Those around us may be different, but we all worship the same God. This wonderful God uses all our differences to fit together to glorify Him in whatever we do. As you glorify Him with your life, remember the marigolds. Mark 9: 38-40
