This Is A Test

Are you a worker or a watcher; dependable or dependant; a giver or a taker?

You cannot simply warm a pew and please God. We must have hearts to love and hands and feet to serve to be counted as children of God.

There is a saying that, “If you are too busy to serve God, you are too busy!” Sit down and write down everything you do (including playing taxi) every day of the week.

Next take each day and prioritize each activity in a 1, 2, 3, fashion as to what you consider the most important, the next most important, etc., and state why you ranked it as you did. For example: If you ranked your job #1 you might say, “to pay the bills, or to keep sane, or to buy a house”.

Third, look at the list and rank each item as to its usefulness in God’s service.

Fourth, rank each item as to its setting a good example to your family and friends as a Christian. Finally, rank each activity as to how it contributes toward your goals. (You DO have goals, don’t you? If not, set some!) Remember to record why you ranked each item as you did.

Are you pleased with the result of this exercise? If not, why not? What will you do to change?

“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness how great is that darkness!” Matthew 6: 22-23
