“It's not our job to toughen our children up to face a cruel and heartless world. It's our job to raise children who will make the world a little less cruel and heartless.”

― L.R. Knost, Two Thousand Kisses a Day: Gentle Parenting Through the Ages and Stages

Things My Mother Taught Me

Religion –”You better pray that comes out of the carpet!”

Logic—”Because I said so, that’s why!”

Irony—”Keep crying and I’ll give you something to cry about.”

Wisdom—”When you get to be my age you’ll understand.”

Justice—”One day you’ll have kids and I hope they turn out just like you!” (This is also known as the mother’s curse.)
