clean up my heart" Even in Old Testament times David knew that only God could change his heart. Only God could remove sin. Only God could make him live a righteous life.

True Biblical grace is God focused. True Biblical grace brings us to our knees in repentance before a Holy God as we cry out, "Lord rescue me from my sin for I am powerless to change in my own strength." True Biblical grace always points towards the savior not towards self.

Also, true Biblical righteousness is God focused. True Biblical righteousness brings us to our knees in repentance before a Holy God as we cry out, "Lord, rescue me from my sin for I am powerless to change in my own strength. True Biblical righteousness always points towards the savior not towards self.

The dichotomy between grace and works is not balance but focus. We are not to be balanced people but FOCUSED people! The focus of our lives is Jesus and his mighty work in our lives. The moment our focus becomes self we have been deceived by satan, on one side or the other of the grace/works spectrum.

The apostle Paul was very clear that the answer to the sin problem was Christ and Christ alone, even as a born again Christian it was not Paul's effort that delivered him from sin but the work of the cross through the power of the Holy Spirit!

We seek God, we surrender to God, and God does the work of change in our lives!
